The practice of Permaculture is a map to live more sustainably. There is more than one way to get there and the destination may look different in your eyes.
Central to permaculture are the three ethics
At Eco-Restore, our landscape design philosophy is deeply rooted in the principles of permaculture, where the core tenets of earth care, people care, and fair share serve as our guiding lights. These ethics aren't just abstract ideals; they're the culmination of millennia of human experience and wisdom, observed in traditional societies and refined through modern research.
We recognize that as stewards of the environment, it's not enough to merely pursue our self-interest. Instead, we strive for harmony with nature, understanding that our actions have consequences that ripple through both our communities and the ecosystems we inhabit. In a world where human influence grows ever more potent, upholding these ethics becomes not just a choice but a necessity for the enduring health of both culture and biology.
Drawing from the rich tapestry of cultural practices and timeless wisdom, we embrace a holistic approach to design that transcends mere aesthetics. While we honor the insights of contemporary knowledge, we also acknowledge the need to integrate values and concepts that may lie beyond the confines of current societal norms. In this transition towards a sustainable future, we remain steadfast in our commitment to embodying principles that foster resilience, balance, and thriving for generations.
Permaculture Ethics
Earth Care
All that we need is already here. We have to care for it to keep it clean, healthy, and viable for this and the next seven generations.
Earth Care includes living & non-living elements from soil life to the water cycle.
People Care
It all begins caring and supporting one another. Humans are both physically and psychologically dependent on community, yet we live in nuclear families and neighborhoods. Sharing our unique gifts brings us together to be more resilient and empowered.
Fair Share
If each gardener grew just enough for themselves that would be a masterful feat and change many aspects of our world.
Imagine if we had enough left over to share! A bunch of carrots, a basket of berries, a bucket of compost for the next generation of growing.
