The Heart of Winter
It has been wonderful to work side-by-side with some of our clients in the gardens we previously installed during these winter months. As we reflect on the original goals, we celebrate the successes and remedy any shortcomings.
During this time when the leaves are down and the flowers are not a distraction, we can identify empty spaces to fill or crowded plants that need thinning out to allow them to spread their arms a little wider. Each season presents an opportunity for improvement.
Our gardens, like our lives, are dynamic and change with each passing season.
We must allow ourselves the grace to make adjustments when needed. Does a plant require more sun, less sun, more water, less water? You get my drift.
By slowing down and following Mother Nature’s lead, we discover that we too require gentle tending throughout the year—in our minds, bodies, and spirits. Sometimes we need more of something here, less of something there, to remain resilient, healthy, and dynamic.
